I Am In Need Of A Computer To Suit A 3.0 Litre Tf Auto Wagon, If Anyone Knows Of A Reliable Wreckers Or Spare Parts Stockist Who Offers Some Sort Of Warranty, It Would Be Great.
Thanks.

Hi Paul
I was wondering how you went with this. Did you find a ecu at a decent price?
Also I was wondering if you could tell us why your existing one failed, and any symptoms, the model, auto/man etc. It could be useful to help some else, if you would'nt mind too much.
kind regards
Blake

i was able to track down a used computer through a wreckers in victoria (imlachs) for $275.00, which was alot cheaper than a new one for $1100.00, still waiting on delivery, so hope it works. as to why it failed, i dont know, had car since 40000km, now has about 115000km, didnt start playing up till about 105000km, had just had 100000km service when things starting to go wrong, they told me it was faulty plugs, which they replaced, slowly got worse from there, bought a workshop manual to try and fix it myself, but needed to many specific tools to test problems. the vehicle is a 98 tf 3.0 auto exec wagon. i do have specific model number of the computer if you need, found out there was 3-4 different computers for this seris. let me know if you need anything else, p.s. was told there was someone who will refurish computer, but this came with no garuantees. paul....

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to reply in detail. You and I have the same car except mine is manual. If you feel like keeping us posted then it would be greatly appreciated. If the new computer fixes your issue then please update us.
I opened a thread under this topic called 'warning signs you wish you hadn't ignored' and maybe you would be interested in posting the result. There's even a parts where you can add part numbers and descriptions of the different ECU's if you want.
I hope to hear good news from you soon, any info you can share will be invaluable
kind regards
Blake

Keep at it man. Thanks for the update, hope you kept your old computer just in case. Did you have your spark plugs done at the correct intervals?
Watching with interest.
