I dont know what they are standard.... but thats eternity!

All i can suggest is loose some wieght, spare tyre anything else floatin aroung the car, sub box's etc....

A manual conversion should shave atleast a sec off that maybe 2-3....

Next would be bolt on a turbo...

And my TR V6 Auto does it in 8.5 secs.... not bad for a 14yo.

for a wagon thats not a bad time
and yours is an Auto

were you in power mode ?

next run have low fuel in the tank

timing chains when done may help

think about the balance shaft elimination kit

10 seconds.

your losing all you power in that oversized exhaust.

2.5" is big for most 6cyls let alone a 4cyl.

my car weighs 1500kgs and gaining.

2" zorst, straight thrus, 4-2-1s. hot cam, k&n, mpi, 5yr young rebuild.

I'm sure the engine has more, it's always had more power than most astrons ive driven.

just good old tlc. :D

oh, and it's auto.

I really do miss this engine in my wagon, that engine and the wagons handling was sooooo good. *sniff*

true true, thats how mine does about 9 seconds at the present. should be about 5 seconds at the end of the year

by painting the rest of the engine bay red of course.

i pulled 9 seconds flat with a mate in the car about a year ago. just done a rebuild, we'll see how we go now :D Giggity

as for your problem, flat straight road is best for starters, empty tank, and knowing when to change gears, 5500rpm SEEMS to be best for me but havent given it a bootful since the rebuild
