Hey Guys

I need some help with my KH verada. With the automatic air conditioner i have the problem where there is no actual hot air coming from the vents. I had also set the thermostat to 32 degrees Celsius and still no hot air. I also waited till the engine had heated up and still nothing.

Since i am not familiar with air condition unit at all, i was wondering what possible indications that could determine this problem out and what should i be looking for in common problems that could mean an easy fix. I was thinking taking it to a professional, but if i dont want to waste my money if it is an easy fix.

I have the same problem with my tj II. Try whacking the side of the console near the climate control firmly. This helps with mine but i havent sorted it out yet.:)

I measured the temperature coming out from the vents yesterday using a DMM and a thermocouple and got a reading of around 27 degrees. What is the normal temperature that comes out of the vents when it is set to the maximum temperature???. I tried hitting the Climate control unit and it didnt do anything, i really need help guys, any help would be appreciated.

This seems to be a common problem at the moment!
Mine stopped working properly a couple of weeks ago - on a cold morning no warm air!
Was told it's probably the controller. I've got a couple of spare controllers so I'll swap it over and see if that fixes it.

Changing the controller didn't fix the problem. Still no warm air on these cold mornings...

Could be the mixer motor not working properly to mix the air at the right temperature. If you plug on of those diagnostic things (MUT-II) into the connecter under the dash it should give you an error code which will tell you what isn't working. I don't have one but that's what the manual says.

i think when we swing the temp switch around to 32degrees (or push buttons etc)
thats when the car goes into full heating mode (like when you push/ turn down to 18degrees it goes into freeze mode)

so it shouldnt be actually 'mixing' the air to get the temp, just heating it fully..

as such i would suspect that it to be the heater tap thats on its way out / died..

Yeah quite weird

i'm wanting one of those actual cables (MUT-II), but because im a poor uni student cant really afford it.

I read in other posts about heater problems and people talk about the certain device underneath the bonnet for the airconditioning (sorry guys dont know what its called).
In the post they talk about the 2 main pipes that go into this device for the airconditioning, and that one should be really cold and the other really hot (i think). But i believe this is only for when you actually want cool air. When cranking it to 32 degrees in my verada the 2 pipes are at room temperature or slightly warmer, which i guess means that something is wrong.

The hard thing is that there is not much information on the forums to try and figure out the problems with airconditioner units. Im just a little worried about problems with the airconditioners because it usually means big $$$. My bro's magna had a heater core problem which then ended up needing a new ECU and heater core costing $$$.

If anyone knows anything about heater unit then post something, need peoples input. :bowrofl:
