Hi guys,
just a few issues on my car ('00 VRX manual) that are scattered throughout the forum i think but i thought i'd include them in one post (hope this isn't tooooo repetitive)...

1) When car is started, and you take off, there is a groaning sound. As to where it comes from, I can't be sure; brakes, suspension, gearbox??? Front discs are ever so slightly warped and squeal a lot under slow speed braking. It occurs when you first take off in the car after the engine has been started (every time without fail), AND sometimes after a hard stop. The groan itself only lasts for half a second then stops and doesn't happen again until you stop and start the car and take off. Doesn't occur at high speed.

2) Violent engine shudder when taking off. It is a temperamental problem. CV joints? RHS engine mount? As I said, sometimes it doesn't occur, and lots of revs when taking off cures it. But it just about gives me nightmares when it does happens, it can't be good for anything up front... The driver's mount does need replacing. One mechanic told me the RHS inner CV joint could do with a degrease and re-clamp, and another told me i should just replace it...

3) Groaning/creaking sound from suspension (rear is worse than front) when it is cold. Once the car is driven around for awhile it stops. Going over speed humps on a cold morning sounds like I'm driving an old crappy ute

None of these things seem to be slowing me down but they are annoying.
Would love some advice.
Cheers everyone.

That is the ABS self-calibration. It starts when first driving off and above certain speed.

Is the engine idlling very low when taking off?

Could be worn shockers.

Sounds like a busted engine mount/s. Quite a common problem. Which you seem to have acknowledged anyway. Fix that mount and you will find it makes a BIG difference.

I get that a bit on cold mornings, I'd put it down to the shockers, I know mine are shot, otherwise it might be the springs, mine are fairly old too, guess I'll find out when I replace them.

yeah mine does it sometimes. i got told it was the shocks (something to do with them - not a suspension expert haha). squeaky shocks ftw!

might be the bits of rubber that sit between the spring and the shock, ive had a set of those go before and was noisey over bumps etc.
