got told it was either diff engine mounts or through out bearing

I'm going to ask what no one else has: what car are you talking about? The only Magna with a differential is the AWD models. FWD models have a transaxle.

Throw out bearing? So its a manual car. Whoever diagnosed it as varied as diff/engine mounts/throw out bearing is an idiot.

FWD Magna: diff = no. Engine mounts = some noise, but not knocking. Freeplay in handling. Throw out bearing = entirely different altogether.

you need edumacting my friend.

Front wheel drives do have a diff. It is housed within the trans axle. It operates the same way as a conventional diff, only instead of having a perpendicular pinion gear, it runs parallel.

Sorry, no. I broke my Diff 3 times in my Old Auto TJ. Trust me, theres one in the box, i saw each one as they came out...

Could be the diff, and or engine mount. My car clunked etc going round corners, but when going straight it was normal.

If its a slight clicking sound, it could also be your cv's. If your unsure bout your diff. Put it on some gravel, and perform a full circle. get someone to watch your inside wheel as you do it. if your wheel still wants to go (rotate) forward, where it shouldnt be, its def your diff, as the diff is trying to spin both wheels at the same speed. Does that make sense?? hope it helps
