Hey guys,

Just curious if anybody knows what would be causing a TH Exec to be whistling while the windows were open, thought it might be the air vents so I blocked them with my hand and it continued to do it.

I know it also does a similar at around >150km/h with the windows up, but I figured that is just the air being strong enough to seap through the seals (lack of door frame and all).

Its the air passing between the mirror and the car, Its very annoying sometimes, but there's nuffin you can do about it.....

He does it so often he has become completely calm and relaxed driving at 50% over the speed limit (presuming we're talking highways) lol

The only way I could see about fixing that issue is replacing the mirrors, but I wouldn't wanna do that.

Yea, when I first got my car, I went a little nuts... wanted to see what it could do. Managed to get it up to 210km/h on a private road :)

Ya, until recently I always figured it was the door vents. Seemed the most logical explanation till I covered them and it still whistled :(

There is a knob or button in the dash labeled "volume" This should fix your problem :)

You sure you don't have a Sprintex supercharger under your bonnet? From what i hear they seem to whistle most of the time.

the exact location of this whistle is in the little groove that goes around the outside of the mirror casing.....i had considered filling just the side part between the mirror and the door window to stop it from happening with something like sikaflex or something similar - but just have never gotten to it cause we rarely drive with the windows open anyway!....

i solved this by getting some electrical tape appro 8cm and putting around the top corner closest to the car of the mirror..
worked a dream ;)

it's funny how most of us have similar small problems.

a whistle in the mirror is not something you'd think would be a common issue in cars.

it would be interesting to see a list of other small issues we share

its a design fault, one would assume that its in all 3rd gens with that same design. its just how much we notice it over our exhaust or loud music when driving
