View Full Version : Spraying the centre, cluster housing, and cluster surround
Hey Guys,
So I'm looking in to doing my first non-audio interior modification, basicly I want to spray the centre control, cluster housing, and cluster surround just like the following: http://aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20695
I'm just wondering if there is a simple way to just "spray" it instead of painting normally.and if so what kind of prep would I need to do?
I'm kind of a noob when it comes to painting, so I have absolutely no idea. Too poor to have somebody do it for me however :(

I got drilled for my numerous questions about painting my interior bits, but when i finally did it i followed this guide (which has a link to a console removal guide) http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40631 Follow this and you can't go wrong. The paint can becomes addictive though, I've painted 90% of the plastic and vinyl in my car already and the only reason i haven't done the rest is because I can't detach it to do so. Good luck with it.
Ahh, so I guess standard paint is the way to go. I must admit it does look absolutely stunning and will definately be worth it.

The paint i used is "Vinyl and Plastic" Paint so it's made for this sort of thing. The brand is septone it's about $10 for a can which will be enough. Same brand for plastic primer too.

Yeah its really not really that hard to do, prepsol, sand, prepsol, prime, paint, clear coat. done.
LOL simplified yes, but thats the basic steps.... make sure you put plenty of clear on it to help protect from minor scratches.

That's what i paid, and it looked as if all the paints, preps, and after coats were all the same.
