1/ disconnect the battery

2/There are two torques (not sure of the spelling) screws in either side of the wheel that need to be undone to pull off the airbag

3/undo the airbag plug

4/Dissasenble cruise, backing plate, etc.

5/loosen the big nut DO NOT UNDO completely

6/pull hard on the steering wheel

put the wheel on abd reverse the rest

If you have any probs pm me and I'll help you change it

Note that if you actually want to get the wheel off, the nut will have to come off the bolt at some stage ;)

Thats correct but if you want to wear a wheel hard on your nose then you will leave the bugger on until you have loosened it off thy shaft. lol

I remember once when i was working at a ford laser wreckers one of the guys told me about this young guy that was working there. He was removing a steering wheel and didnt leave the nut on. He was pulling and tugging away and then the wheel smashed him in the mouth.

He lost a few teeth

I did a quick step-by step if you look under the ralliart wheels in the magna mods section. Didnt cover the airbag bit, but that has been covered here I think

Guy who installed my stezza told me that he heard about a guy who was installing a stezza and got killed by an airbag that inflated. Imagine that... Killed by an inflating airbag while installing a car audio system.

Be careful removing it

EDIT Didn't read the last couple of posts... my bad haha

Anyone else having trouble getting the airbag out? One of the screws holding mine in is incredibly tight.

QUESTION

i have capacitors connected to my stereo system.

disconnecting the battery is easy enough, but the main cable is still connected to the capacitors, so my car would still have power?

wasn't sure if this would affect the airbag system at all
