Hey Guys,

Just a bit curious here, poor as hell at the moment so I most likely wont be able to afford any of these for now (these are my eventual plans for the TH), but I know a lot of these mods have been done on here already. So I'm just wondering the prices for:

Ralliart Body kit (Fibreglass) + Painting and fitting
Full TJ conversion (Bonnet, grille, bootlid and lights), painted and fitted
Chrome TJ tail lights, fitted
Clear 380 side indicators
King superlows all-round, fitted
Complete soundproofing (roof, boot, doors, etc...)

clear 380 side indicators are cheap as chips!!

go to mitsu, they will order them in for ya, think itl cost ya less than 25bucks for both, includes the orange globes im pretty sure too.
search around AMC and the part number has been listed many times im sure..

they will be the cheapest and easiest mod for you on that list, and make the car look instantly smoother and cleaner :)

ok. just a quick approximate price on what i know.

dual exhaust ~$700 installed
extractors ~$700 installed
k&n CAI ~ err RPW do it for $400 or something like that. or make your own.
suspension i dont htink they do superlows for rear. so lows for rear and superlows for front.
if you want lower then get them compressed as for price i THINK it was about $500 installed.
leather retrim~ buy the leather retrims off ebay and DIY for $600

and the rest im not sure.
but that should give you a rough idea

Dont compress your springs!!!. Kings dont make superlows for the rear but lovells do. $330 supply and fit. Roughly about the same for front.

Full quad (duelies on each side) 3" Cat-Back exhaust, Fitted
Around $700
Pacemaker extractors, Fitted
Around $700
K&N Cold Induction Kit, Fitted
You can make your own via some SS tubing and some silicon bends myself and BEJ1OS made one up using some silicon from work and a pod costed around $300 bucks
Ralliart Body kit (Fibreglass) + Painting and fitting
Not to sure on this but id say around 3k by the time its fitted and painted
Full TJ conversion (Bonnet, grille, bootlid and lights), painted and fitted
This will depend a lot on whether you want to tdo the work yourself or not but id budget around 1000 and hunt around the wreckers for the parts will end up costing less (espically because your car is white)
Chrome TJ tail lights, fitted
Off Fleabay for $200 from memory and a 10min DIY job.
Clear 380 side indicators
$32 bucks from mitsi DIY as well takes around 5min
King superlows all-round, fitted
King only do SL for the front however they do a 45mm lowered front and rear, i have these atm and are a great height, looking at around 140 per pair of springs and should be around 180-220 to get fitted. Or lovells with do SL front and rear around 200-230 a pair from memory.
Complete soundproofing (roof, boot, doors, etc...)
2x dynamat extreme bulk packs get them off ebay for 220 each and fitting is DIY just do it while the trimmer has all your bits out, just takes patience and a sponge.
Complete leather retrim (white leather), fitted
Talk to six6sixtrimming about this, he is a motor trimmer by trade and is currently doing work for a lot of AMC'ers here, im getting mine done and its 1k by the time i get the few extra bits done as well.

bear in mind that these are rough prices you might get cheaper on some dearer on the other, just research first before diving in.

Thanks muchly. So I'm looking at around 8k, guess most will have to wait till the car loan is paid off :P definately have to get the exhaust done though, atleast that one is justified fuel economy++ :)

Thanks muchly for the help.

Just a quick Question Life,

Are you looking to run true 3" duals all the way down or do you want to branch of to dual only at the back of the vehicle, either way, unless you plan to supercharge or turbo the car,you will most likely lose a fair whack of low down grunt, and make fuel economy worse with this oversized pipe diameter, but you will gain nosie, and plenty of it if muffler selection isnt spot on,you would be best to go with a single 2 1/2 " single system with a decent muffler like the lukey LR series that is tried and tested among magnas

Sorry, I just read cat back, but it still applies

I've had mine done and it splits at the rear, into 2 x 2" pipes, was told should have no effect on backflow or whatever

Basicly running a single pipe split at the rear in to 2 high-flow duel exhausts, I love the loud sound of a quad exhaust :)

Yeah, there are alot of myths etc about backpressure, but where the problem lies is with oversized piping for the applicatio, hot exhaust is much faster flowing than cold exhaust. this is why bigger pipes arent always better. if the pipes are too small, they will reduce gas flow, too big and the exhaust gas slows down, cools down, and gets denser because colder air is denser. this creates more backpressure, then the engine has to work harder to push the cold "dense" exhaust gas out.

But if your after some more noise and are not real particular about Drivabilty etc, than why not i say!,it may well drive no differently, buit this is my observation on the subject, and yes, quads could look real nice if done with a bit of class, good luck mate

Cheers
Steve

I don't mind if there is no power gain, power loss may be a little annoying. I'd just like a nice roar :) Thinking of the VE-SS style quad exhaust setup, always looked nice.
