got myself a 12inch sub and amp yesterday. started running the wiring last night.
where abouts in the firewall should i feed the power cable through to the engine bay. i ran the power cable up the drivers side. then couldnt find a place to feed it through.
if i remember correctly when i seen neos car he had it running through on the passangers side.
is the a place on the drivers side i can run it through?
i probably should have found the spot before running the wire:nuts:
also, are there any particular places im likely to get vibrations once i get the sub going?
thanks.

The easiest way to do it is start from the engine bay and go to the boot.
On the passenger side, there is a large wiring harness that goes into a rubber grommet thats in the firewall. You have to poke it through there. The way i did it was i got a coat hanger ( one of those old metal ones ) and poked it through. Just be careful not to tear any wires.
I then taped the power cord on the coat hanger and slowly pulled it through.

ok thanks, wat side of the car did you run the power cable down?
also if any1 has any pics of how they have mounted their amp that would be much appreciated.

I ran it down the passenger side since that was the same side I put the cable through.
I had my old sub woofer box over where the spare wheel was and the amp at the back of the the boot held down with welcro. Its up to you where you want to put it just make sure its not going to roll around.
You could also bolt the amp onto the back of your sub woofer box but some say the vibrations can damage it. I have it bolted on the back of my box and I havent had any problems.

behind the battery, the main power loom runs over the drivers side wheel and into the firewall. keeps the cable run short and on the drivers side with other power cables.

will i be able to just poke it through? i did look at this place but im not sure if i can go through there without taking the fender off

i put the car on a axel stand, took the wheel off and pulled the plastic splash guard (theres an assortment of 10mm bolts holding it on the car) to reveal the loom and the entry into the car.

finished the installing the sub this arvo had the amp hooked up yesterday.
i have rattles exactly where you mentioned thebeast. and i also have a slight rattle in the boot lid. im sure ill manage to fix these up. but im quite happy with the result for now.
i used your idea gemini and velcroed the amp down for now, but eventually ill make up a mount on the back of the seat.
thanks guys:D
