Ok,

So I have yet another vibration, this time it is the stock speaker cover on a TH exec rear shelf. I managed a "temp" fix by stuffing some tissues under it however it looks horrible.

Anybody got suggestions on how I can stop the vibration and keep it looking decent?

Sounds like it's missing the nuts to hold it down. Check under the parcel tray in the boot to see if they just need tightening.

Hey, I had the same prob in my KL with the fusion 6x9s being a little to tall and when used caused a slight vibration. So the way i fixed it was to remove the stock cover and underneath there is bracing and all i did was trim back the bracing to a point where the speaker won't touch the cover and this stopped the vibration.
Hope this helps.
And welcome

go to your local bolt shop. Get some 6mm nyloc nuts and flat washers. That is the size you need.
Make sure that the clip that holds the outer rear corner of the cover is clipped under the parcel tray too!

I haven't seen the sedan's speaker arrangement, but you can get stick-on foam stripping in a roll from Bunnings. I imagine it would be possible to apply this to the underside of the cover and re-bolt it in to stop the vibration.

The foam compresses and you won't see it. Also check the suspension on the edge of the speaker drivers to make sure it hasn't cracked away allowing the cones to rattle.

Good luck. Keep posting too because your threads have been interesting and useful so far.

cheers

Thanks guys, I think stuffing it with foam would be the best option. all the nuts are there. There are 300w 3-way Xplod 6x9's in there and its not the speaker causing the vibration. its the 1300w subwoofer sitting underneith them :P just need to stuff everything vibrating with foam methinks.

Foam wont stop resonance, sound deaden the major flat sheet metal on your parcel shelf, rear seat and boot lid.
