hey guys, sorry bout previous accidently pressed submit didn't mean to

got some annoying noises coming from interior of car ('00 TJ sedan) - i realise the sources of these squeaks and rattles are often very difficult to find, but just wondering if anyone knows any common places that cause these sorts of annoying (but ultimately meaningless) noises on 3rd gens??? Does something come loose and needs tightening?

Cheers

Thats OK mate.....I was only taking the p... A few guys have mentioned about squeaky passenger seats. Check the search function for this...may be an answer there for you.

the de-mister vent on drivers side front. Squeeks and vibrates really bad and gives me the ****s. Window seals are bit noisy, but other than those two, my car is pretty quiet.

I have a noise in my fron passenger door that sounds like it has a peice of plastic bouncing around in it, but touching your hand to it even softly stops the noise.

also rear windscreen seal is another source of sound, when thats starting to let go, youl hear it and it will be pretty hard to diagnose on your own..

Hi there Arnie

Noises come from all sorts of places for all sorts of reasons. Get an assistant to drive while you sit in the passenger side. Sit in the back too. If you need to, try removing the back seat and see if the noise is louder. The seats act as sound deadeners, and will absorb noises. You have to try and narrow down their origin.

My TF (executive wagon with minimal sound deadening) has a couple of noises here and there but is surprisingly silent for it's age (140000km). A nice young TJ like yours, unless somethings changed dramatically in manufacture, should not be much different.

Therefore I think you will find something is loose, or worn through.

best of luck
Blake
