dont you have to re route the main power through the ammeter? so basically inbetween the battery and everything else on the positive side....

Ameter in series and voltmeter in parallel .

If it's in series it'd just slot in near the end or beginning of the circuit, after or before where it hooks into anything else.. right? Been a while since I did electronics :P

If i remember the shunt is put in series and the ampmeter feeds off that. I could be wrong though lol

amperage?
Correct!
Mainly Cause the gauge was only $17 so eh, why not, more readings of stuff the better
Was hoping to have it just measure drain of the stereo, but running 2ga into my A pillar wont work i think lol

The other 4 gauges are easy as to wire in, But this one is making me think as I'm not sure what I tap into, would it be the wire going to the alternator or?
Hell worse comes to worse I'll just hook it up to my HU.

yea for $17 i wouldnt trust it to be able to handle up to 80A...
would probably burn out if you hooked it up to anything decent, and yes you have too hook it up in line (series)

yeah they are a good price now that they are 40% off, btw i saw the new range of gauges, exhaust tips and new autotechnica gear today and looks pretty nice. I got myself all my piping for a CAI hell cheap hehe.

Yeah will be a weak point in your power system, might be destined for the scrap heap.

I wouldn't put it against anything more than 30 amps headunit might be a goer so you can meter those massive transients out of your high voltage RCAs :P

If those stupid POS EQ's Started working then i would have a nice 10V Out :P
Its no massive downer - thought it was going to be hard..
Yeah thats why i got them - @ 40% off i got 5 gauges for like $120ish?

For the price i dont care - these look good enough - i was thinking of getting some CAI pipe too how much did yours cost all up?
FYI Catch cans will be down to $25 soon :)

amperage?

Your a really smart boy liverpool_rule_88:nuts:

I'm not really that stupid, Ammeter = amp meter= meters amps = well dah!!!!!

My question of " what do you want to meter" refered to, do you want to meter battery amp draw, altenator amp output, soundsystem amp draw or any other amp draw.

TBH, when you said what do you want to meter, i would of said something stupid like that to, hes only being a smartass :P
And in regards to your question - well it made me think a bit, in the end, i just want to meter whatever the hell is easist to meter!

AFAIK nah we cant get GReddy...Just get the monza one its $25....all the same just catches oil :P
In terms of gauges those speco ones we only have the oil pressure elec/mech, boost (uleh), water temp (mech/elec) and voltmeter, the ammeter i ordered in as you can with other shiz.
Trav get a part Number of this uber awesome $150 catch can and get em to type it into there catalog system

hmm just hooked 3 of the gauges up to the centre console light (uses a T5) All the gauges are using T5 White LED's)) and it blew the taillight fuse...
Didnt think 3 T5 LED's could draw that much current :S
