Ok, Tomorrow i finally have a few days free to tinker with the car, im gonna colour code the plastic around the bumpers, i just removed all the stripes from the doors, problem is it doesnt look you can remove the stripes from the back and front bumper?
If you can't, can someone please tell me how to remove the rear and front bumper, im not that good with cars haha, is it just a couple of screws under the rear and front?

Nup, the "strips" on the bumpers are part of the bumper moulding. You could try doing it on-car, with lots of masking etc., but might be a bit dodgy.

I'm still stuck on the bumper removal bit myself, seems there's quite a few bolts, screws and clips that you have to undo and keep track of, I don't want to get stuck with the bumpers off.

Not sure just how painful it is to sand back, I'm hoping my rotary tool will cut the prep time. that said, the majority of your bumper is already done, you only have to worry about the strip bit (check how close a colour-match your new paint is first, though it shouldn't look bad if the "strips" are consistently darker)

Just break all your clips off your car an d just tack screw your bumper back on inside the wheel arch, that way it takes 1 minute to take bumper on and off!

Nah, dont do that unless your dodgey.:bowrofl:

Just be patient, if you got time, take it off, all you need is some over spray on ya grille or something then ull be spending the rest of your break rubbing it off...

Nah should be right, plenty of newspaper here and there should fix it.

When I colour coded my bumpers I just masked the car up with plenty of masking tape and newspaper. Some all around the bumpers, even behind the bumper on the front so no paint got into the condenser and trans oil cooler.

Just remember to take the paper out. Was wondering why the A/C wasn't working right... lol

ummm I think colour coding means matching the colour to your existing paintwork. So that means whatever ur car is

As you can see in my avatar I've got white duco and have resprayed the bumpers to a very dark grey.

What colour is yours? Post it in the photochop section to get an idea of what it'll look like with whatever colours you're thinking.

To take the bumper bar off is easy peasy!
Get yourself a haynes manual to show you how, probably like 8-10 bolts in total, only 2 of them are PITA
To sand my bumper down fully, took me 5 hours - then another 2ish to paint.
Result was pretty good for the $$ spent..

How long does it take to take off? And, how much to put a series 1 diamante on?

how long? first time give yourself an hour, gets easier and quicker as you do it more
Diamante bumper goes on as easy as the standard one came off

yeah mine is the old burgundy colour with the light gray plastic bits. looks pathetic. i heard about putting tyre shine on them, but its too much effort to do that every week.
Ive also seen ppl who turn the grey bits red, and dont really like the look of that. i'll have to take a pic soon and put it in photochop section sometime.

oh, and dont mean to hijack your thread wombat!!

Yeah, you can either colour code, and go with the same colour as the car, or colour contrast, and go with another colour to offset it.
I'm going with stratos grey on my misty rose car, as the whole thing in misty rose just seems a bit bland, and I think it would work well with the way I have my grille/paras set up. Still deciding on whether to have some misty rose thrown in on the bumpers as accent panels.
