Hmmmm...... speed limiter set to 60km/h and the old 1.8L deisel engine conversion.
I did have something constructive to write but after i wrote it i thought it was stupid.

Safety mods eh,what about putting in a fire extinguisher or two, maybe some premium tyres and upgraded rotors and pads, decent headlight globes and wiper blades?

On the fuel consumption side, pump the tyres up a bit, 36 to 40 psi is pretty good for most 15-17" tyres or even more if you want to experiment, also a length of piano wire connected from the accelerator and tied around your balls will also save fuel!!:D

I was going to make suggestions but then thought better of it, after all I think I've currently got the worst 3rd gen fuel consumption of any member atm.

Safety wise, some better headlight globes, I'm using Crystal Visions in the parras (much better, litterally double the light on the road!), some good tyres and brakes and some good windscreen wipers (I'm using those found on Bugatti Veyron's, good for 400+km/h, just in case :D).

Oh and check your brake lines for wear, don't want to see another gerard. Just to be safe, make sure your hand brake works well just incase **** happens with the brakes.

thats the funniest **** ive heard all day. but back to the main subject what kind of upgrades to the brakes would you all recommend? and what type of crystal vision globes would i need and where can i buy them? Also whats teh brightest globe i can get for my fog lights? you see i live in good old dubVEGAS and drive to the central coast once a month and there are some dead dark areas that the high beams just dont cut it, so i was thinking about powering up the foggies, also to note i have the standard verada fog lights if that means anything.

For fuel consumption try the following:

2.5" Cat-Back Exhaust with high-flow muffler(s)
K&N Oval-Pod (Designed for mitsus) or Panel Filter
Aftermarket ECU with custom shift ratios (if auto)

Cheapest mod there is the filter.

Crystal Visions are the model bulb. You'll have to check on the fog light front because I'm not sure what they take, but Philips Crystal Visions in the low and high beams should increase light out in the country alot, H7 for low beam, H1 for high beam. Apparently the fog lights are H3 but check before you buy them, I haven't done those ones yet.

And by the time you've done all that you will have negated any fuel savings I'd say lol

Still, all good stuff ;)

Foglights actually make your long-distance vision worse. They illuminate the foreground more, that actually detracts from your long-distance focus. Fog lights are only good in fog (dher!) or for looking wanky. Get some good quality low/high beam globes and you'll be set. I bought a set of Philips Power2Night Globes for my car - I don't think they improve vision as much as the Diamond Visions, but they're a lot better than the stock globes.

If you want really good lighting, Heath Young's suggestion seems to be to fit the Executive headlights, a good set of 90/100w bulbs, and a relay to power them.

I'm with the other guys... globes and windscreen wipers are a good place to start. Also keep your windscreen clean inside as well as outside. I can't stand driving in a car with even the slighest trace of dust on the windscreen... I just feel that you can't see out as well.

With regards to fuel saving mods. I've heard that high flow throttle bodies (like the ones EZ Boy sell) can reduce fuel economy slightly, although I haven't verified this personally. Although it's not really a mod, look into the O2 sensor on the car. They often seem to go around the 100k mark, and many users have reported much better fuel consumption after replacing their broken unit.

would these do the job for the lights?

Also as for the exhaust every exhaust place i have rang (about 6 of them) said im better off staying with the standard and just getting a chrome tip if all im intrested in is the fuel consumption, but if i go a sports muffler being auto they said that the drone on any long trips would drive me mad and glad i found that out cause i drive a 440km trip once a month so think i might just stay standard with teh a chrome tip unless someone can change my mind.
