Finally gave my TP a good run 2day.. gave it service on weekend and drove 1,100km with only fuel stops in between.. ran like a dream, averaged 8L/100km I was very impressed with it.. before service i had driven it 10,000km without adding oil at any time and it was still on full mark.. should serve me well for a while!

To the AMC, since nobody likes them and we're heavily V6 oriented, yes it is a joke. lol

Offline and on the road, i'm actually serious. Give them a service and they'll run forever. Neglect them and they'll still run for quite a while. 2 years without an oil change and no damage 'aint bad... like all Mitsubishi's they're bloody durable, but never credited for it, only when things go wrong are they recognized.

Back on topic, not bad consumption figures there, better than factory spec which is, iirc, 11L/100kms. A full 3 litres. Very nice.

Thats good man, just proves some of the first gens still have plenty of life left in them.

I agree with the comment about the Astrons being a good engine. Sure they get knocked for their problems, but everyone seems to ignore that even when neglected they still go and go and go, even if they sound terrible. And then well, if you've got one that you actually service and maintain, they're pretty reliable, not too bad on fuel, and they're not noisy on long trips either. The only thing they'll never totally satisfy is the need for power, they just don't deliver there in a car the size of a Magna lol

well my dad brought a old rusted out run down tp about 4 years ago, for $300 but its never missed a beat. its made it to Vic and back every year since then only stopping for fuel, basically being drivin for 24 hours non stop. never broken down once.
