just a quick question regarding the KJ chrome boot garnish (the number plate and reverse light surround)
will it fit onto the back of my KL?
to me, the boot lids look to be the same size and shape?
ideas?

please see the image below to know exactly what im talking about - i know it says Diamante, but they are the same right?

The KL and KJ had a different shaped boot lid, but the garnish mght still be the same.

I'm going to add pointless post, sorry Doddski I don't nkow if it will fit, but if you do get it, I'll keen on your current garnish (unless i get a Prius, lol)

its body coloured, with not much chrome on it at all :(

it does blend in well to the rest of the boot... but.. i like body chrome :)

im suddenly not sure if it will look too good actually... but it seems to be going pretty cheap that KJ one, so i may as well try to get it and see what i can do with it on my car

was just about to say dodd-ster. your one atm looks very nice, i lol quite alot - when something isnt colour coded, we complain and get it colour codded. when it is, it 'blends in' too much, so we change it.

lol always want what we dont have. personally, i like the stock one. then again, its not my choice.

Just an observation.
But that diamante garnish has a key hole and yours doesnt might make it look abit odd??
If you were to fit it you should definatley de-badge your other badges??

They look to me to be quite a different shape. See the way the top of the garnish curves to a point on the KL's, then goes down vertically inwards? The KJ one's aren't quite like they, they don't curve to a point, they just just curve, and they appear to be sharper verticals.

Don't take my word for it alone, but I'd say it won't fit. Best bet is find a KJ parked somewhere, stop next to it and observe:P

As Magna_TR-Driver said, the KJ has keyhole. If you want more chrome, than why not just
chrome the top bit, that is, swap it with a KH rear garnish top or anyother previous ones
that do not have the keyhole in the top bar.

It's a different shape, particulary at the top edges so it won't fit unfortunately. Also, you will find that the TL garnish strip is a bit wider than the TJ.

Compare the pics below and you'll see how different they are at the top edges

i never even thought about the keyhole being in the prev model and not the KL.

i couldnt find a square on pic of tghe kl rear vs kj for the shaping of the garnish either - but Mohit has come to the rescue with everything i needed.

still might get it, and have a play around with it, and see what i can come up with - if i cant get it to do what i want, then look for a For sale thread for it! haha

i like the colour of that one...
sometimes i hate having the saphire white pearl whatever the heck its called - metallic white colour - dont get me wrong love the colour of my car, but i like other colours too! lol

anyhow,
that Xi in the red makes the chrome lining that IS there stand out a little more.

just a quick point of interest - i thought the AWD maggy n rada got thier own unique mags - that kl Xi is the second one i have now seen with the KL AWD mags on it!
thought the Xi again got diff mags to the Ei and AWD...
but thats slightly off topic.

i decided that im going to get it anyhow, and see what i can do with it - might be able to come up with something reasonably cool and good looking, im thinking maybe just the chrome around the reverse lights and behind the numberplate, just 'skip' the garnish (where it would say Verada - or in my sample pics case Diamante) but that would mean hacking up a garnish... *dont shoot me if i do it* haha
