Hi Folks,
For those with JVM or whatever they're called, front bars could you help me with a few queries:
1) Are you scuffing the bar on everything?
2) How low would you recommend the front springs be?
3) What side skirts and rear bar suits these?
4) Besides the woeful fitup, anything else a trick with them?
Thanks in advance for your help

i can help with this
l have a JVM front on my TJ sports (<look at my avatar)
1) most things around orange it does but if you take the biggest possible angle it won't. you may look like a retard taking a big angle but it saves your bar.
2) i've got king lows in mine i won't go any lower than that otherwise you will be scraping even worse.
3)i was going to get a ralliart kit for the rest of mine but i can't seem to find a rear bar (don't make them apparently). The difference & J-Pap has VRX sides and rear on theres but TZABOY's ralliart with the JVM front on it looks hot.
4)it doesn't take that munch time to fit. My girlfriends, dads, best mate :D fitted and painted mine.all we done was take the old bar off, lined the new one up, double checked all the marks and drilled the holes and painted & fitted it. check out my thread its got some pics in it

I dont let anyone drive my car as I know they'll carve it up. Exhaust shop owner drove it one block and smashed it up on a gutter, ended up being an expensive days work for him $500 later for a respray.
I haven't driven up my driveway in a year either.
But end of the day it's by far the best looking bar around
Hints, flare it out slightly from the sides, put two mounts underneath to make it a bit firmer. They are good bars and dont need a lot of FG work to neaten them up.

Thanks for the quick replies.
Are you guys running flares with the bar?
I don't mind riding on a higher front spring, being awd I can have some rear distribution and still get a move on.
Is it corner that keep bogging down or the whole damn thing?

Perry: The link you've given me looks like your springs are near stock height. That sort of clearance on the bar should be ok or am I tripping?
Folks: Is it feasible to chop the bottom 2-3" off the kit? I don't car is the bottom bar doesn't join at the centre. Just a matter of glassin' it all up in a tidy fashion I pressume?

1) few small scuffs underneath sitting at 10mm height at the front. The bar is 1cm lower than the vrx front bar but the vrx front raises at the front and its lowest point is before the wheel arch. JVM Bar though is even all the way around.
2) I'm running lovell superlows which sit a little lower than king superlows. So anything from lovell and higher is fine. King superlows would probably be closest to legal height while being legal still
3) vrx, ralliart are my favourites
4) The 3 people i know of with the front bar in melbourne had no problems with fitting. It fits just like the standard bar with just replacing the front metal bracket from the standard front bar and 2 holes either side just before the wheel arches.

when i put king lows in it it made no difference to the ride hight in the front but dropped the back a bit + it handles a lot better now because of the stiffer springs. As i said in my other post if you take the biggest angel coming out of a driveway it won't scrape and take your time when your coming out.
