Looks like the main seal(is that whats it's called?) is leaking. Had a friend who is a mechanic look at it yesterday on the hoist but he couldn't see properly because the oils is everywhere.
Looks like another major repair, although I am wondering if they replace all the seals when they do the belts, I had all the belts done last year.

Im assuming you mean rear main seal..?? Thats the one where the gearbox and engine join.. Engine oil is leaking out of your gearbox where it joins the engine..? Big job. Gearbox has to come out.. it sucks as its a $50-60 seal and a most of the day job..:(
Ifit is the rear main seal make sure they use genuine mits one. There is also two types of seals. make sure you get the brown plastic one.. :)
Ive done a few of these now..
I did one when i did a clutch a few years ago and when we did a rebuild 6 months later had to do it again and mits supplied the black one. after engine and car was put back together the seal started leaking after 2 weeks. kinda sucked.. fitted another brown type and havent had an issue since..
Belts are at the front of the motor.. Rear main seal is at the rear..:)
I feel your pain... the rear main seel was one of my 3 oil leaks (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58699)

Thanks for that, I didn't like the place that did the belts so they probably stuffed it up.

Nah there is no chance of that unless they took your gearbox off..
Rear main is one of those things that just happens when the seal decides it wants to leak.. Just a rear crap spot..:)

it would have to be the worst to have let go... but unfortunately not uncommon...

It's done over 260,000 so I can't complain too much I guess.
Just came at the wrong time I decided to stop working and spend more time as a carer for my elderly mother and the carers pension isn't much.
