ECU and BEM replacement, INVECS-II gearbox, instrument cluster, shifter assembly (cables, mounting point, fascia, shifter).
Not sure how the 3.5L gearboxes deal with the 3.0L torque (less torque for different ratios might make power transfer weaker?)

Already has and Invecs2 box.
The tippy/normal auto boxes are the same, its the electronics that differ between them.
I believe it is quite alot of work and nobody as of yet has been able to pull it off, some have come close, but no cigar as of yet.
Either buy a tippy car or get a manual.

All the autos in 3rd gens are INVECS II.
But it aint worth it mate. Mitsu charge around $1k for a tippy gear selecter.

Word, I assumed non tiptronic boxes were different, solenoids built to take sporadic user-driven shifting.

Unfortunetly the tippy shifter assembly is somewhere around the $1000 mark.

so if i was to go to a wrecker n buy a new gearbox from say a TL and get the shifter and all, it wouldnt just be a straight swap? even with the ecu and wiring?
or are we saying that it would be hard just buying a shifter and trying to get it going on my exsisting gearbox

Where in the thread has he stated that he did the changeover?

Awesome reply :)
Back OT methinks now, otherwise thread closure seems imminent.

i dont understand why it is so hard to convert to tippy, i have no engine or technologic prowess of any sort. Why is it so hard? are we talking 3l to tippy, or just in general?
if its the same gearbox, what makes it so hard.

Changing mechanicals always seems to be easier than changing electricals/software.

Changing mechanicals always seems to be easier than changing electricals/software.
But the mechanicals are exactly the same, so you have to change the electrical components.
