Decided to respary my centre console again:nuts:
I think i rushed a bit, im going from satin grey to gloss black. However after three coats of the black it seems that the grey just wont go away?
I dont think i sanded the previous clear coat good enough?

might be the powdercoat reacting underneath?
I wiped it all back to plastic using thinners, after finding i had a bubbling/ crackling problem over the original powdercoat stuff they put on the consoles, when trying to spray over it in plastic primer. You do indeed seem to need to strip it all back.

If you have some pictures it may make it easier to diagnose the problem you have.
You just need to rub back the clear coat untill its lost its shine really.
I had a similar problem with the paint looking dull after I sprayed it on. Turned out it was due to the cold weather.

also if you have used silicone based products on your console you will need to wipe it down really well with wax and grease remover, aka prepsol, aka acetone, aka preptone.
Did you buy cheap paint?
I've learned something today, good paint costs a lot more than cheap stuff, and is why my console looks a bit average lol Gonna re-do it this weekend with good stuff. Might want to check what paints your using, and maybe sand back to the primer or something for the old paint, or even back to the plastic and start over.

I would sand it right back.
