I found the crappy scrap of paper that I wrote down the pump numbers for the walbro I fitted, I'll find it for you tonight.
It isn't exactly plug and play though, you need to redrill one of the brackets (since the pump is a teeeeny bit longer than OEM (and cut the internal fuel hose shorter).

I just found the item on Tweakit.com, says it fits magna/verada. Modding it to fit is no drama.

Just so you know, its the exact same part number as an Evo 8 (and ill asume 7 and 9 aswell).
You do need to cut the pipe the pump goes into, aswell as the hose. About 5 mins of modification, not even.
Pretty much, the price for these pumps seems to be about $200, or even lower from some places, so dont pay anymore than that.

be careful of fakes on ebay... there are a few legit sellers on ebay but alot of fakes aswell.. i picked up a genuine one on ebay for $150....
as ar3nbe said, the pump is the same one that goes in the evo's with slight cutting down required to the magna pipes and hose....

So is this...
- a modification that may deliver a performance improvement (on it's own or with small mods)
- a modification that only delivers a performance improvement by optimising other high end mods, Turbo, Supercharger, EMS changes, etc.
or
- an engine insurance thing - to ensure you have enough fuel delivery (after other high spec mods) - to ensure the air/fuel ration is maintained. No performance gain on it's own - just stops engine problems, failure, etc.

hey guys, heres a thought... standard evo8 pumps (and others) fit into TJ magnas.... evo8s have over 200kw and the fly standard...
SO perhaps for midly moded magnas a stock evo fuel pump could be a worthwhile upgrade?
anyone know if a standard evo pump is much better than a standard magna pump?
i reckon you'd be able to pickup the evo pumps super cheap...
but i guess if cash isnt an issue you might aswell spend the $200 a do it right first time round...

On its own dont expect a performance increase.
By adding other mods, the stock fuel pump will struggle to keep up with the engines demands for fuel, and thus, a bigger pump is needed.

not really useful on it's own, more of an insurance policy to deliver enough fuel for forced induction or high end NA setups.
in fact, you won't see any improvement by upgrading your fuel pump (unless your old pump was fubar). all an upgraded fuel pump will do is increase the amount fuel you can deliver to the engine. you still need to adjust the tuning to actually deliver more fuel to the injectors. and then you'd probably want to upgrade the injectors, and so on...
and the Walbro part number is GSS-342.
cheers,

A suitable new fuel pump is $229.68
This is a 163l/h 250kpa unit that will drop straight in.
That's all you need unless you are proposing 500hp+.
This fuel pump will deliver enough fuel for upgraded 390cc mitsubishi injectors, and is sufficient for well in excess of 400hp atw.
Forget about EVO comparisons, you have six cylinders and required fuel fuel delivery to each cylinder is less than for a full works EVO.

$229 for a 163L pump... or $149 for a walbro 255L pump (GSS-342). both that will fit.. i no which one id go for

umm, flow capacity is not necessarily the answer. need to look at pressure rating also.
I think the mitsu pump runs a bit quieter than the walbro - stealth running.

My international and local research gives this walbro unit the thumbs up for my interim application, so thank for everyone's responses. I look forward to presenting pics and updates late June, and again in late july. :dancin:
