Anybody have any idea on the order of the height of the various brands of springs (particularly for the front).

Would I be correct in putting the order as follows?

Lovell superlow
King superlow
lovell low
king low

where would pedders, eibach fit among these?

Also what would be the actual heigh differences between the various springs? I know that they do vary slightly from the claimed ride height drop.

not 100% but i thought that king superlow wer lower than lovells superlow, but to get ur car the lowest the best way is lovells superlow all round coz theres no king superlow for the back? but yeh deifinitely think that king superlows up front are lower than lovells superlow, im sur someone will correct me if im wrong.

so id say
king sl
lovells sl
not sur bout the lows lol

i'm 100% on lovells being lower at the front as I have had king superlows and lovell superlows with the same shocks and noticed that the front is lower on the lovells but not sure by how much.

Have a look at this thread (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31673) - I had Lovell Superlows, Asylum had Pedders Superlows and LZYBOY had Kings Superlows.

From memory on the front it went Lovell, Pedders, Kings and on the rear Pedders, Lovells, Kings but its pretty close. Remember also when looking that both myself and Asylum have wheel arch flares too which makes ours look a bit lower

those kings sl's look about as low as my lovell lows.

I think lovell lows drop around 35 - 40mm, when I inquired about lovell sl's were quoted about 60mm drop.

cheers,

the actual drop height can vary from spring to spring, also the shock can make a difference, aka how old it is etc, usually the difference can be anywhere up to 10mm difference.

Lower a BMW, Audi or Commodore and the tyres are up under the guards, lower a Magna and there's still a gap. :doubt: But the rear of your car looks to be in the gaurds.
Just wish we could get the fronts lower too.

However, I'm scared to go any lower at the moment - the Ralliart front is a driveway snow plow as it is without being lower! Still want to though

pedders stage 2 at the fronts stage 1's at the back... equates to superlows and lows with stock shocks, and they are in good condition :)

Superlow front/low rear seems to certainly be the way to go, car sits flat and balanced. Thats what I'm saving up for :D

Thanks for those pics guys.

I disagree... if you want flat and balanced, Lows all around are the way to go. The Superlows/Lows combo makes the wheel archs sit the same height - that's it. The car itself is not even. If you follow the side skirt, you'll see it rising up at the back. Plus, Magnas are wedge-shaped (they're taller at the back), so having the front lower only accentuates this.

Lows on the front are plenty low enough too... I broke my front spoiler last week while parking :doubt:

King Lows all round are the go, if you still want to be above legal height. My car has been measured 5 times now and each time its legal

Looking nice!

Have you had any problems with the tyres rubbing the wheel arches etc.
Reason I ask is that In too have an AWD Sports and at long last have decided to lower it and put on bigger rims (have VRX rims at the moment).

I was thinking of King lows all around. Just a bit worried about wrecking my front spoiler or undercarriage...

Did you change your suspension too when you changed the springs or did you leave it stock?

Also do you know the offset of your wheel?

Thanks!

No rubbing at all. Even loaded boot with luggage, 3 kids in back seat and towed a trailer (which temp made the rear end sit about 20mm lower) from Syd to Phillip Island then along Gt Ocean Rd and back and still no rubbing, noises or bottoming out!

No issues with front end hitting anything - just had to cut about 25mm off bottom of front mud flaps for better speed hump clearance.

It's been more than 8 months since fitting the spring/shock/wheel/tyre package (ie all done together) and it's still great, though the front end seems to be getting a bit less forgiving over sharp bumps in the road. Would like to go back to King Lows on the front, but trouble is I like the look as it is now ... ahh the price of vanity..... With 45 series on 17" I'm sure lows would look fine, but with the 40 series 18's it really needs the reduced guard gap from the SL's IMHO. Thinking of trying some slightly shorter or longer/softer bump stops up front and see if that helps ride quality any.

I think my 18x8 wheel offset is between 35-38mm, can't quite recall.
