sounds good mate, ignore tufftr's comments, he is just pissy because you havent taken the time to paint every mechanical item before its put into the car.

are you doing it yourself or at a shop?

keep us updated.

haha nah i'm getting it put in by my mechanic. the engine cost 600 with 12 months parts and labour warranty with about 90,000k's on it plus 50 for the new ecu. my mechanic is putting it in for 600 which includes doing the timing belt before its put in. i didn't think $1250 was to bad for it all.

haha you should ask for a spotters fee :P maybe the club should make deals with companies like this to buy parts through...then organise good prices haha

don't know if the club already does something like this.

i thought he already gave us a good price on this??
he said he would normally let em go for 850, so we got ours a bit cheaper.. did you mention amc??

i mentioned amc, and it was about $500 for a 3.5L with 90-100kms but none with as low k's as yours wendnarb
he mentioned that he just sold another engine to a member of amc, i figured it must have been u, awesome

yea i know he gave me a good price haha i meant it would be good if the club joined with companies for different things.

for example: the club affiliates with franks automotive spares as the place for amc members to get engines....he gets business and we get good prices. and then for example another place is the place for trimming. these are just examples and i know it would be hard to organise on a nation wide scale but it was just a thought.

that is an insanely good price! i was expecting well over $2000 for the swap which i am seriously considering doing soon (6G72 has just hit 330,000km).

anyone have any clue on where to go to enquire about this kind of thing in WA? if anyone can point me in any good directions for acquiring engines, and good mech's to do the sqap i will do some research myself and see what i can uncover.

im stunned by the price you got. seriously, wow.
