Hey all my clutch was abit funny the other night.
I was wondering if warranty covers this, as i have the extended warranty and it runs out soon.
Or how much do you think it might cost otherwise?
Cheers

I would read the fine print on the warranty because the clutch is a wearing part and is most likely not covered, like brake pads etc... If you do have to get it done yourself you are looking at @ $1000.

No warranty will cover clutch and pressure plate.. They are classed as wear and tear items..:)
Biatch of a job too..:(

I've heard of people getting new clutches under manufacturers warranty before (not Mitsubishi though). Probably largely depends on the mood of the service manager and how much of a fuss you kick up.

I bought my old TH second hand with 22,000kms which was still under extended manufacturers warranty. The clutch shuddered so I took it to Penrith Mitsubishi & they said they would have to pull it apart to determine what was causing it. If it was due to a failure within the clutch (cant remember exactly what part), they would fix it under warranty but if was just wear & tear, I would have to pay. They said once it was pulled apart, if they determined they wouldnt cover it & I didnt want to fork out about $1200 for a new clutch, they would put it back together but I would be up for the labour cost for the remove & replace . Anyway, I blued about it to their manager saying the car had only done 22000k's & if he looked at the tyres & brakes, he could see the car hadnt been flogged (which he acknowledged). The result was they ended up replacing the clutch for free.
I ended up selling the car last year with about 80000kms (90% of which was my wife driving - it had a very easy life) & the clutch was shuddering again when cold. I have since been told the clutch on 3rd gens are too light for the power of the vehicle & in my experience, that would seem to be the case.

well at the time guys i was driving with one shoe on lol .
So i hoped it was that.
In conclusion i took the ralliart for a good old spin tonight and no problems what so ever. So i hope it was just the FAT foot with the shoe on makeing it feel like it was slipping.
Will keep you posted.
