Hi guys and did a search and from what i read doesn't seem to promising and what i really wanna know i couldnt clearly find... anyway.

Point being, i have a couple of questions about my Woodgrain dash inserts.

1. Can i fit a universal doube din cradle into the din slot, or will i need to get a verada specific one?

2. What's this i here about it being impossible to fit a universal din tray?

Thanks in advance Brad

Din Slot?
Anything there will need to be screwed into the side supports, i.e. cd player etc.
Nothing actually get screwed to attached to the double din fascia itself
I really hope you got those metal brackets cause without them this fascia is useless

This is driving me mad. lol. I've been searching the web for hours

Who has fitted a single din H/U into a second gen verada with woodgrain before. How did you do it, how well did it fit, and what did u use to fill the rest of the space?

I want to put in a tray, nothing fancy, can i do this, which one do i use?

ME! lol

I put the h/u bracket in the middle of the hole and then proceeded to push it hard towards the bottom. It bent a little, but fit and was re-shaped when the HU was pushed in.

To put a Iniversal Din pocket in- due to my poverty lol- I cut the side-tabs (when you get it you'll see what I mean). Then, got the sander and sanded the bottomedge of thefacia down about 2mm. I ten pushed the din pocket in there hard and now it's stuck in there good and proper. Unfortunately the stereo surroung is now load-bearing and as soon as I knock it, it unclips. nothing too bad until I can be bothered buying a proper din pocket for it.

Yeah I did the same (cutting the plastic pocket) and mine pops in and out and is a real B**** to get the woodgrain surround in and out of it haha.

but the stereo looks great and works.

any questions feel free to pop them my way ive had pleanty of fun pulling it all in and out and apart

yours fits a bit better than mine...my din pocket actually sits around the rim of the woodgrain part. i'm not bothered, makes it look like it's supposed to be there.

It was a universal double din.

I got mine from JB for $50 the ripoff bastards. Found it in a catalogue of an electronics supplier I deal with for $15.

Could order one Hitman20 if you needed me to but might take a week to get to you.

go to gallery, mals verada (links) and you will see about 6 pics down my JVC with disk holder under it.

This was neat, the HU stayed in place and was screwed into the side mounting plates thus no one could unclip and slide it out. Man I miss that car lol

Exactly why I like the rada one better.
+ mine is ALWAYS in and out. This way I can keep the CD player stationary while i work instead of it having to come out too

It is one of the new ones, one of the better ones with DVD support and usb port, i just need to buy a few screens and i can have video playback (not that that is on the high priority list)

it isnt the bt (i think thats the bluetooth one) i have a nokia bluetooth car kit for that and it mutes the stereo so same thing achieved.

its got the ipod adapter which is main feature..... i will start a thread on my car soon and list all my mods

thanks anyway, and your right its a kick **** HU, I swear by JVC HU's
