Hi guys, another quick question - Has anyone experienced the transmission shudder when it shifts into 2nd gear? This is in relation to the 4-speed automatic in the 3.5. Car in particular is a 2000 KJ 3.5xi with 87000km.

Basically, as mentioned above, the car shudders on light-to-moderate throttle when it shifts into 2nd, usually 35-km/h-40km/h.

If you hold 1st gear past 35km/h it does not shudder.

*Transmission fluid flushed last week but did not rectify problem.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know whilst the dealer still is obliged to fix it under statutory warranty.

Thanks heaps
Justin

Yeah when i had a KJ Verada i had the same thing. A Trans Fluid change and about 1-3,000 kays and it went away.. Give it a 1000kms or 2..

Check engine and transmission mounts... Weird vibrations occur when these perish.

Dear THE-EGO, so the shuddering just went away after a while? Did you ever find out the cause of the problem?

I hope mine does the same! Certainly would brighten up my day
