Well, after over 6 months of the magna being off the road, i finally got the gearbox fixed.

A bloke in Sydney fully rebuilt my gearbox for a mere $1000.

New synchros in 3rd n 4th, new reverse gear, new crown and pinion, new diff center, all new seals and bearings.

Looks clean, you will be able to feel the difference between a tired old gearbox compared to ones that has been refreshed.

i am just going to tease everyone now.

he quoted me $700 if it was a basic rebuild and $1000 worst case scenario.

Customer service was fantastic. Let me know details of everything and is a great bloke to talk to about what exactly is wrong in the gearbox.

He specialises in FWD gearboxes and knows ours inside and out. Also has a few on exchange from memory.

Easy to change yourself man if you can get it out. Took me 10 minutes.

Ok another update.

After a day last week and a few hours here and there, i took it for a drive the other night.

The gearbox feels a little tight, as you would expect, and so far im really happy with the result.

I will post up in a couple of weeks time and tell all my opinion then.

But so far its thumbs up.
