hey folks
Ok, so figured it's probably not the alternator, the battery is fine and there's spark in the spark plugs and such.
Replaced the dizzy, rotor, spark plugs and leads and still nothing so thinking it may be something to do with the imobiliser (in 2005 the previous owner had a problem with this but nothing since then)
So yeh, gunna see if i can get a mechanic friend to fix it for me tomorrow so i can go on the magna cruise haha

Yeah mine is sort of doing this too...
Anyway, so its turning over but not starting?
Or not turning at all?
See if a new battery fixes it first, or could be the regulator on the alt (car used to die randomly ages ago to and this was the cause)

if the reg is rooted in the alternator, you cant even jump start the bugger, so thats likely... the fact the light has been on would also lend me to this direction
also another note, my bro-in-laws car just randomly would turn over but not start yesterday...turned out to be moisture in the dizzy...damn crap weather up here over the weekend...24 hours later, bobs your uncle

tried it again at midday today and it didn't work so unfortunately i don't think it's the weather.
it turns over fine and my stereo works when i turn the ignition to acc so not the battery at all i don't think.
Will have a look at the alternator tomorrow and let you all know how it goes.
Also, on another note, my fuel consumtion is absolutely absurd. It's a 4 cylinder carburetor manual and it's at 18 l / 100km which is ridiculous.
Any idea what it could be? (had a look at the carby and the air intake on it doesn't open the whole way and it appears to open fairly late when i pressed the throttle) but other than that the carby looks almost brand new. So yeh, any other theories other than the carby would be good (oh and is it possible to adjust the carby?)
cheers folks
