What would be a better set-up and which would sound better???
1. 2 x 12" Clarion (SB12XB) subs in 1 sealed box (PMPO - 600w)
or
2. 2 x 12 Clarion (SB12XB) subs in 2 seperate ported boxes (1 in each box)
Both options would be running off a Clarion monoblock amp (APX1300)

I'd go the single box, then they have single direction and won't conflict. also easier to manage.

2 ported will probably be louder but the sealed would sound better
single means less chance of cancelation of sound waves that you might experience with 1 box on each side of the boot
if you have the boxes already then try them both and find out
if not then toss a coin or get "professional" advice
as a rule sealed enclosures have better SQ than ported but are not as loud
I'd go the two in a sealed box. Having heard this exact setup (old model of the sub but same deal, different colour) in a sealed dual enclosure box, I know that they hammer pretty well, and they've got a good sound to them. Good bang for your buck I'd say.
Might want to throw Nemesis (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/member.php?u=4321)a PM, he has the 2 Clarions in a dual sealed enclosure setup I'm talking about running on a APX1300 Mono.

I've always been under the impression that it's best to put subwoofers in separate enclosures. Even if they're in the one big box next to eachother, they should be separated into two enclosures.
If you've got two subs, I'd consider a sealed box. Two ported boxes tuned low would take up a lot of room.

I have 2 12" in one box, but have divided it into two seprate sealed boxes. Kicks too hard, even the center mirror ratles when I crank it

That'll happen with any sub... trying to see out of my rear vis mirror is fun. All I see is light trails, and thats with a single ported xplod 1300w peak 12" sub.

you will get a much "tighter" response from the 2 in a sealed box than from 2 ported.
also just is easier and i think looks better in a single box rather than 2....

looks better in a single?
i dunno bout that
one of the best looking setups i have ever seen has a sub in admitadly fiberglass enclosures on each side of the boot and the amps (3 of em) in the middle
also there was a 150HP NOS tank on each side of the amps too :D
looked mean :D
