Im looking at putting rims on my car, im undecided if 18" or 19" os the way to go

The rims im looking at are B.BOSS Eleanors

http://www.bbosswheels.com/Eleanor-lrg.jpg

Now, i got a quote from Bob Jane in Osborne Park, and i told them i drive a 2002 Kj Verada

They told me

18x8 B.BOSS Eleanor x4
235/40ZR18 Maxxis MAV1 x4

$1949 including fitting and balancing

19x8 B.BOSS Eleanor x4
245/35ZR19 Maxxis MAZ1 x 4

$2620 including fitting and balancing

What i really need to know is what size rims and tyres are within safe ranges to be fitted
Are 18x8 or 19x8 too wide ?
Also im fairly sure 245/35ZR19 are too wide but is 235/40ZR18

What size tyre do people recommend ??

i have the exact same rims, if you can afford it get the 19's cos 18 isnt quite big enough imho, and mine are 18x8 and are good, no rubbing etc

Had a quick look at your profile, are you still running the 235/40/18 Eagle F1 Tyres ?

maybe alittle rubbing on full lock but nothing major

Do you have the same problem with rubbing with your 245/35/R19 Maxxis rubber .

Is it safe to say, 245 = rubbing at full lock?

Whats the most damage rubbing can do (Besides putting a funky yellow sticker on your front window ? :doubt: )

I have 245/35r19s with 8" rims which don't rub. On a side note I quoted someone on 18" copies of these rims with tyres for $1500, so it pays to shop around!

the only reason why i was rubbing was becuase inside the passenger front tyre well there was alittle plastic bit hanging out
got some siccors and chopped it off
havent had a problem since
the gap roughly between the tyre and the tyre well is about the thickness of my fingure (at the smallest point)
oh and im on superlows too

Thanks, you guys have cleared the doubts in my mind, im fairly sure ill be going for the 19" with 245/35 R19 or 235/35 R19, probably which ever is cheaper at the time. :D

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure he only put 225 wide tyres on.

I did actually see these at Beaurepaires was wondering if anyone knows the quality of these.

CLICKY FOR THIS MONTHS SPECIALS (http://www.beaurepaires.com.au/centric/products/wheels/this_months_specials.jsp)

You can get a set of 4 18" with no tyres for $792 (Special?), not sure if 19" are same price though.
