how much will it cost me for a 3.5l v6 engin and a manual gearbox? im thinking of buying one from the wreckers and rebuilding it, and then putting it in my TE when im ready to.
also just out of curiousity, would it be hard to put the 3.5l v6 in place of the 3l? and mods to engin mounts?

its a straight drop in, no mods, try looking around ebay you can get engines for about 500. ecu is a different story

what if i went to the wreckers and found one in good nick? that way i can get ecu and gearbox at the same time, any ideas on what prices ill be looking at?

There is a TH 3.5 manual complete at Portside wreckers in Geelong (Moolap). Give them a call and see what its worth. (03) 5248 1122.

There are at least 3 3.5's on ebay right now. One wrecker has a pair. They are all around the 500 mark.

Dont forget the bcm with the ecu. Otherwise you wont be able to start the sucker.

dont worry about changing the ECU and BEM, just run the 3.0 ECU with a piggy back ecu, otherwise you have to get your keys reprogrammed to match. the 3.0 ecu can run the 3.5 but the fuel ratios are out i think,

1. Thats just the setting or the trip computer to be able to calculate fuel usage etc...It will also ask if you have a sedan or wagon......changing this to wagon does not make ur car a wagon :P

2. KE had the 3.5L engine, it was out the same time as the TE of course....

I have a complete TJ sports/VRX ECU, TCU, BEM and engine wiring loom, so if you have trouble locating a complete unit, I can help you out. Having said that, I'd just run the standard ECU (thats what I did) and then correct fuel and ignition settings with an interceptor unit (piggyback). If you're smart you can find 2nd had units like unichips on a few car forums for cheap.
