Mate if your not going for anything too serious like a full brembo kit, I would recommend getting the ralliart/awd kit.
This consists of;
Front Twin piston calipers up from single piston on yours
294mm/284mm fromt rear rotors with the fronts slotted instead of 284mm/276mm front/rear
with the rears also being vented instead of solid.
Decent pads like Bendix Ultimates.
Best of all it's all bolt on.
This is the set up on mine as standard but I might look at upgrading the what Shnell and TZA Boy are running which is 320mm front rotors and Corvette Calipers.

But like I said if your just upgrading to make it safer and not planning any track time The AWD set up will be plenty.

how much would this cost and where from?

Check your local or surrounding wreckers for any AWD or Raliart wrecking and I think you might pick the whole kit from the car for less than a 1000.
And for the 320mm front brake upgrade your looking around 1700 from Hopper stoppers they are the ones who designed it

You can also get the twin pistons from a 380, ita all a direct bolt on. Combine those + DBA4000's and bendix ultimates and you have a great package, price is around the 900 mark + fitting

This sounds interesting, what about the rears?

The 900 price, is that new from mitsu or sourced from a wrecker? and is that including the DBAs or are they extra?

If you price all this kit from Mitsubishi, your eyes will bleed.

magna00 and myself, along with a few others, got all this (calipers, pads, rotors and braided lines) as part of a group buy. If you buy the calipers direct from PBR, the rotors, pads and lines from a parts shop, it should be fairly close to the $900-$1000 mark.

The rears are a different story; apparently the 380's rear hub is different to the Magna's, and the bolt spacing for the caliper bracket is different. It would've been good if it had fitted - it's a 303mm rotor.

Well, to help put things into context, I got a whole set (front and rear) of Brembos off an Evo for $1,200. This included calipers which are in very good condition, brake pads (unknown brand) that are almost brand new, and decent quality disks.

Yes, this was second hand, however, if it goes to show how inexpensive Brembos actually can be,

Fitting the fronts are easy as pie, the rears require a spacer. It will cost about $400 to get the brakes enginered, and, you need rims to fit over them (not a real hard task, provided you know where to look)

And a note of caution on the Ralliart/AWD rear calipers. If you pickup a set 2nd hand make sure the seals have just been done as they are real expensive and will quickly add to your costs.
