Just got the car back from service, transmission flush inc. and now its dead smooth 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th smooth and 2-3rd is smooth OVER 2500rpm. If it shifts under 2500rpm it jerks like you wouldn't believe. Feels like being in a manual car when you force the car into gear then dump the clutch.

I'm going to ring up my mech tomorrow first thing to talk about it, hopefully take the car back tomorrow, but in the mean time I wouldn't mind trying to sort out what it could be. It was always rough from 2nd-3rd, but never this rough, and it was never smooth above a certain rev. I can't even feel the change if its over 2.5k, below it its painful, lower the shift point the worse it gets.

Ideas people?

Cheers.

Try reseting the computer & let it relearn your driving style.

Would the ECU let it run perfectly smooth everywhere else though except 2nd to 3rd under 2500rpm if it was just the way it learned?

Not sure, but worth a try. If you drive your car hard the changes will be harder. The invecs transmition learns your driving style.

I know that much, but you can't feel 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th at all, just the revs drop, 2nd to 3rd is the same at the higher revs, just not down low.

None the less I'll give it a go before I take her out next.

I had the same thing happen to my TE. Apparently, the computers can be very haphazard in the early 3rd Gens and mine was the same situation as yours. Smooth all over until 2-3 change and then Bang! accompanied by a bunny-hop-style jerk.
All the mechanic (not mitsubishi) did was try resetting the computer and as it couldn't be read at all, (even by Mut-II) replaced the trans computer and that fixed the issue. So the computers can be the culprit definately!
I Hope its not the same for yours. The Trans computer was Very Very expensive. Good Luck

Reset the ECU, did the proper learning as recommended by Mitsubishi, running smooth now :D No idea what was up with it.
