Hey all, only a minor problem, but I can't fix it haha.

I drive a TP magna, and the sub is causing some minor vibrations around the boot... I'm pretty sure I know where it's coming from so I just need a way to fix it.

It is the plastic panel in between the two tail lights, it is slightly bowed and it makes a small rattle with every beat and it just annoys the living **** out of me! Is there anything you would reccommend to use to stop this rattling, it's prob between the car body and this plastic panel. So far I have tried putting a foam layer between the panel and the car, but it was too thick and the panel started to come loose cos its only connected by one screw and a bunch of crappy plasic clips.

I also think the boot may be slightly rattly, but I reckon I've fixed the majority of that problem. some of the The boot braces (dunno what to call them... they are like across the boot on the inside, to support the boot and stop it bowing I assume) have come loose from the boot, and I just stuffed the gap with foam haha, and it has stopped the majority of that problem :P

but yeah, any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys ;)

Matt

To fix the boot rattle, the Cheapest way (Not the prettiest) to do this is to use the Paint on sound deadener. Supercheap have it in 1L and 4L tins. I would personally get the 4L tin as once you do the bootlid you will probably find other things to lather it on which will stop more vibrations.

For large areas, I have found dynamat extreme to work absolute wonders sopping vibrations.

Foam IMO does nothing. You need something to add weight to the panel to stop it flexing, Those products do it.
if you can find a boot carpet for the TP then use the paint on stuff, @ $13ish for 1L its a pretty cheap way to stop rattles

Is there a search function on these forums so I can just type in a keyword or something? it would be pretty useful if there isn't one already.
