It comes with all sorts of weird features, if anyone needs anything let me know i can go and get it tmoz

cupholders, front brakes, weird seats (have little fold down arm rests on each one)

Wont work on magna indicators as the Diamante ones are thinner, you need KS rada ones

If you have the climate control stuff I think it can go in, but im not sure if you can get everything to work because its electric instead of manual. but if you have climate control I know you can get those diamante cup holders to go in, which are VERY nice. Im waiting for mine....

I havent done the conversion myself, I have a Verada so it was standard. do a search, because from memory I think it might not have been possible to get the climate control fully working. I guess that there might also be levers and the like from the standard stuff still there, that might block the cupholders.

So yeh im not sure, but do a quick search, you should find an answer somewhere.

As trav or paulina mentioned before the engine is a 6G73 2.5L, i remember reading somewhere on here a while back that the rear tail lights and garnish won't fit because the diamante has a wider boot lid??? I think killbilly was the person who tried this when he had his 2nd gen back in the day.

Trav also mentioned that the front door pods won't fit a tr/kr as the speakers sit higher then the magna/verada's.

Well if enough of the gear is there, particularly an AWD system, then it's definitely worth trying to restore before tearing it to shreds. Not every day you see an AWD Second Gen. (1G Diamante)

All I can say is... lucky bastards. lol If a Diamante turned up on our local lot, i'd have towed it off the yard by now and already started building it up.

What about members who aren't close to the wreckers, if they get Trav to buy the part, add a suitable markup (should he choose to, but I doubt it, Trav is pretty honest, a good bloke) for effort, and post it to them, I don't really see a problem with that scenario... :confused:

agree to a point and theres a bit of risk to it too, cause u might get something and when u get it home its busted or stuffed. plus theres some parts that are really hard to take out.

I can see why the club doesn't condone pulling parts purely for resale purposes as it can be seen as profiteering in some cases. On the other hand, there's the few who find some kit around the wreckers and offer it to the club, and that's accepted. Fair enough.

That, I can see where the problem lies. No real comment there, it's just plain black and white. I suppose it started off as a question thread, is there an ADM Diamante, but by about post 2 it was a request list so... I think that's that cleared up.


Back on topic, rarest car i've found on our local lot is a Magna Safari wagon totalled so this is really something. Not so much interested in what parts are on it, but just the info from the thread is great. Very informative as to what these things were equipped with.

Well didnt i have an AWESOME DAY!
I got to this car and went nuts....looked everything over, noted everything i could!
So Heres a list of what i noticed was different etc...
-Bootlid Much longer
-Boot lining much nicer, has nice flappy panel to access rear lights
-In boot is whats called a "Humidity Purifier"(?) Looked like a giant CD stacker
Moving inside;
-C Pillars have 3rd gen verada map lights
-Rear seat has tilting headrests
-Rear Parcel shelf has 6x9 Covers which look funky!
-Rear seats look much nicer then magna ones foam wise, seem to have a 2 person bucket thing going on
-Front map light Trav was talking about is just a 2nd gen Verada Centre light
-Front sunvisors are shorter;
-To accommodate to a WRX Style flipdown sunblocker
-Mirror stuck to windscreen
-Front seats are captains chairs
-Foot Operated handbrake
-Centre console all in vynal (not plastic) but no coin holder? just a plate...Couldnt figure out why
-Dash is all 1 piece vynal, not 2 piece like ours (where it meets at the heater controls)
-Speakers in the dash are different
-Window regulators are VERY different
-Steering wheel looks to be that of the later KS models
-Drivers kickpanel thing has integrated Cigarette holder with flip cover (I grabbed this:D )
-Had chrome door handles (Grabbed two of these *smiles even more*)
-Had this AWESOME flip thing where our ciggie lighter and mirror controls are sort of flips over and covers it all so its all smooth! (Grabbed this too!)
-The front seats were not electric, looked the same as ours
-Sunvisors had a slidy cover on the mirror..
-Had clear door lights (not red ones like our veradas...Grabbed me these too!)
-High mount rear brake light

Moving onto the outside
-Door cards! They MIGHT Fit our 2nd gens, I tried to put one on, but because its a bigger window, the top was longer and would not go into our door, however if you cut it out i think there is a slight chance you could make it work
-Folding electric Mirrors, Again, I tried in the yard to make it fit a 2nd gen, and i think this one is a possibility! Almost lines up, but some metal where our mirror goes might need to be cut out to let this sit flush, overall shape is well, would look sick having your mirrors fold in aye!!
-It actually has some form of side skirt standard, if you open up the door, it pumps it out by another 1" Was going to get these but CBF as they were on steelies etc...
-Where our usuall "grey strip" is on the 2nd gens, these also have something similar, except theres start from where our grey strip does, and extends all the way to the bottom of the door! Again, this WILL fit our 2nd gens, but unless you want to put HOLES in your door for these to clip into i doubt many people will try.

So Yeah, all in all, AWESOME! I got everything i needed for my DOHC Conversion from the 2.5L motor there + some WICKED rare interior bits :cool:

Oh and it also had the auto transmission i think F5M33? The one with the LSD in it
For the record NO....IT IS FWD
But it did have IRScompared to our crappy beam axle...

Umm yeah pretty sure i have everything covered!
Oh and dont bother buying the uber cool lower map pockets front and rear, you will need major hacking up of your magna door trims for them to fit...Ours are made so as to not accommodate these, bit of a shame really....

went there today with josh, i got the captains chairs. chairs are going to take some major cleaning as it looks like they have never cleaned. they are black as black can be!! going back tomorrow to get the rear seat. pretty much everything has been stripped now so not really worth the effort. all it has left on it is the parts that will not fit standard tr/ts.

I've probably skipped something, but is there any visible reason it's on the lot? Doesn't look like it has any panel or body damage from the pics. (Could be mechanical, more than one time i've found a perfect car with a bottle of GM Dexron III in the boot :doubt:)

I am super jealous!!! I loved the look of the centre console lid bit. Im assuming the cigarette lighter and stuff are under it or is it just a general pocket?

Also loving the frameless windows, they look hot!

Yep, everything is underneath them, really nice addition i think, cant wait to get it back from the spray shop!

I wanted to see if the door inserts would fit, and they would, but you will need to hack up your trim something stupid. So not really worth it...

Nah i prefer the standard magna body to the diamante bodyshape, its alot longer and looks more like a boat

Maybe not the engine, transmission on the other hand I wouldn't be surprised.

Engine only makes about as much power as the 3.0L SOHC, but probably has a much deeper note and better fuel economy... just a thought. Plus a 2.5L V6 over a 2.6L I4... it's still good. lol

So are those outside door trims still available? I might be interested if someone can get me a price. Wouldn't drill my doors, just modify the trim.

They probably are, but its going to be a major hack job to get them to work

Old thread, but took note of a few other things on the JDM Diamante...
telescopic steering column with 4 piece column covers
The auto trans lever had 3 cables?!?!?!?!?! 1 was going to the GB, NFI where the other 2 were going...
Carpet is one piece up until the dash, doesnt have the carpet trimmed panels below it (LHS of drivers leg)
Umm for some reason there is like ~13 wires going into EACH door. still trying to work that one out...
Intake had an extra resonator in it, which I've never seen in a magna before.
Also, glovebox is cushioned, adds a nice touch overall...
Drivers sunvisor mirror aswell
and smooth door popper, not lipped..

Just some more info I gathered, had a good time sussing it out lol
