I'm running a small freezer in my TP for Deliveries, and therefore not charging the battery correctly. Looking at installing a larger Aternator, currently running "K1>14V 28/70A Bosch. Other Alternators for Mits Magna are K1>14V/85A and NCA>14V/120A. Would any of these do the Job? and would I need to change my Regulator?

NCA>14V/120A the regulator should be already fitted

wouldnt hurt to have a larger battery fitted

Might be a good idea to go to a mechanics/battery place and have the alt and battery tested, I had shocking (lol) problems with my alt and battery in the TP.

yeah my alternator has been slowly dying the last few weeks... I had to keep disconnecting the battery overnight and when I was parked for a long time so battery wasn't flat when I tried to start it. Although it was prob the regulator screwed I thought, just was easier to put the other alternator in that I had lying around :P no worries now ;)

Yeah, gotta be careful with issues like this. I helped fix a TM carby sedan for someone at school (actually at school, in front of about 15 year 11's), swapped in a new battery and went over the distributor, alternator, etc.

All was fine until the battery ballooned out and literally exploded a few months later, a new battery, regulator and alternator later, not to mention the cash out of pocket, it's back out on the roads again. Turns out it was caused by excessive power draw, not too sure of that theory but at the moment it's the most logical. :doubt:
