2500??????????????
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
$2500 is actually cheap for the 6G72 24V gearbox including labour.
I hate to say it but you will be struggling to find a 2nd hand box, and the price difference between them and new, its worth jusyt forking out the cash for the new one?
Whats wrong with the old one? Can it be rebuilt?

last year mitsu advertized for $3000.00 for 3L V6 for the replacement engines including labour.
as ash said isnt you current Gear box fixable .
a non mitsu job wil cost you around $1500 including labour.
other wise sell the car and put that $2500 towards new one :))

The problem is dude, the engine is made in Australia, and they have plenty to spare, so running them out at a cheap rate is not a problem. But the gearboxes are bought in from O/S so they are quite costly! :(
