Considering getting a 2DIN H/U as I don't like dash pockets. Currently have a single DIN JVC h/u. Is there any installation issues associated with this? Friend whose parents used to have a TJ said it was a bitch to install.
Opinions/solutions? (like sourcing the relevant bracket from a Verada maybe)
Cheers!

Nah, it's not too bad. Check this link

The only potential problem (especially on TL's) is depth. Hardest part is getting the air vents out. I use a plastic coated coathanger, bent at the tips, to grab on the inside of the vent and pull forward. I've taken it on and off a few times now with no dramas. I've had a KJ verada 2DIN head unit in my TJ with no dramas, and a TL verada on in there now. No need for an extra bracket, I used my single DIN/pocket bracket in both cases

Think I'm gonna go an Alpine 1DIN unit anyway. Need to find something to get rid of the dash pocket.

Nah, already got 2 cup holders in the TJ centre console. I'm not American, don't need more =) I'll probably get a gauge holder and 3 52mm oil temp/pressure/water temp gauges.

i didnt want to start a new thread for this:
but i have had a TE (its was my parents) before i got my KJ verada XI and i tried to pull out the air vents and broke them!
$500 to repair, but i put it back nicely and they dont work (parents dont know that :))
anyone have anything to say that can avoid this,

make sure you disconnect the vent adjuster before you try to pull the vents out...

I haven't had any trouble pulling out the vents. probably done it 10 times. just need to use slow, gentle pressure instead of yanking on it. there is a tool that Mitsu workshops have, kinda like a heavy gauge coat hanger with a rubber sleeve on it to protect the plastic.

If you can afford $650 for a headunit you can afford $15 for a console

you might have lost the clip or something
i've pulled mine and my olds mans apart a few times and havent broken anything
the reason why they are cheaper is because they are second hand and mitsubishi love to charge
just go to a wreaker mate, you'll be surprised on how much you save
