The harmonic balancer on my engine (TJ 3.5) gave up a couple of months ago. Mechanics replaced it along with power steering belt tensioner, crank angle sensor, timing belt and timing belt cover. Ever since, there has been a vibration at around 1100-1300 RPM, which, I must stress, is very audible yet doesn't really make itself felt.
Is this because they didn't, err, balance the harmonic balancer properly? Cos I noticed the old one had holes drilled in the back of it which I can only assume were for balancing purposes... Shouldn't it have been correct from Mitsu spare parts?
The engine never did this before the breakdown, and at RPMs other than the range mentioned it is still smooth as.
What are your thoughts?
