hey guys i got myself a Pioneer CD-IB100-2 iPod Adaptor (http://www.ryda.com.au/Pioneer-CD-IB100-2-iPod-Adaptor-p/cdib1002.htm) for my h/u and i need ideas on how i should place it...

Now once the ipod is connected i wont need to access it anymore so keep that in mind...
so far my ideas are:

Run the cable done the console to near the gear lever, velcro a ipod holder there and have it there sitting next to me...
Run the cable into bottom DIN pocket and have cable tucked in there and i can just connect my ipod and leave it in the DIN pocket
Run it into my ash tray, when i need the cable pull it out of the ash tray and mount a holder somewhere near there, maybe in one of the cup holders or on the side of the dash...
run it into arm rest console and have ipod plugged in there
run into glove box... not sure how i would do this though...

which one should i do??? I love having no mess in my car so i'm not to keen on cables running in the cabin, would probably want to run it into the glove box if not to much work for a stealth installation... or otherwise into the DIN pocket...

Also any ideas where i can mount the unit??? was thinking in the glove box or onto some surface under the radio...

I have mine in the arm rest console. Easy to run the cable there.

I've got mine running in to the glove box - not an ipod one, jsut AUX in that i plug mp3 players in to. same deal though.
It's actually really easy, poke it through ther glove box first and you'll see it come though the middle behind the centre unit, it's all open space behind there.

where would i poke it through roughly??? also reckon i could mount the unit in there??

Ive got mine in the glove box too, best spot. It just gets messy in the centre console or anywhere else IMO.

only prob i see with putting it in the glove box is that i have 1.5m cables for connecting to the headunit which is all good... but they have given me the smallest ever power and earth cables!!! they are like 20cm long... so dumb and annoying so would it be safe to attach some more cable onto the end to make it longer???

also the setup diagram says i need a 2A fuse between power source and unit... how would i attach that?!... i never tinker with the electrics of my car coz i am scared but i want to give this a crack myself....

also would i just splice into the power cable running to the h/u to power this unit?? also where should i ground to with my midget 20cm cable???

awesome

hmmm i would think it would just plug straight into the back of the unit? thats what mine does but i have an alpine so it might be different.

i have mine running into the glove box, when you take the console surrounds off to put it into the back of the stereo you'll see how to send it through.

i haven't heard about earths etc. though hmmmm

yeah this unit has a earth (black wire), power (yellow) and a thick black cable that runs to the back of the unit to connect it all up...
