Hey guys, I got this weird orange switch down to the left under my steering wheel and I have no idea what it's for. Anyone else have this in their TF or know what it's about?

I had a 99 lancer, it had one too. It was something to do with the alarm.

Ive got a TF Magna, and i have no such contraption which leads me to believe its an after market item, probably one of those james bond features where your plates change to avoid being followed and such? either way push the damn thing and report back as im keen to find out what it is

Kind Regards

EDIT: picsorban :D

I pushed it, and nothing happened! I'll get pics when I get home from work. It's not cruise control related because I used it with it both on and off and didn't make a difference.

I love random after market buttons on cars. Bought an R31 and the previous owner installed a button so when you press it, it turns the ignition coil off then when you release it, it turns in back on so you get a nice fireball shooting out from the exhaust.

It could be anything lol. best way is to trace the wires.

Why post a pic? We've all seen a switch before.

You're better off tracing the wires connected to the switch and see where they go.

Finally got hold of the previous owner and apparently it was a switch for a police radar alerter thing. Which is why he told me about a long cable and plug that was tucked up behind the dash that I found that used to plug into the radar thing.

Illegal of course but there we go, mystery solved!

even if you made something up..
i was hoping you bought it off james bond and it was as switch for those headlight heatseeking missiles.

i found wires running from under my steering wheel, through the firewall where the accelerator goes through and into the engine bay, they were snipped off just past the battery, they are thin red and black wire, so its for powering something.

I havent got the darnest clue what, maybe driving lights? But there wasn't 2 pairs of them, just a red and black wire. Me being dumb i cut them back to under the steering wheel as far back as i could reach with snips, shoulda left it there and multimetered them with the headlights on and see if they are getting current:(
Coulda saved me hassle when i eventually get some driving lights in.

Me too, I got the same thing.

I have this small plastic like a size of thum that has no wires at all. It has this three buttons which is red and green and small grey. When I pressed it, the car goes "beep beep".

Hmmm.....strange.............very strange.
