Hey guys had the C pillars out the other day and accidentally knocked my right side rear demister plug and it has snapped off the window itself.
As a result the demister now no longer works, I have seen a few repair kits on the net but just wondering what I should do!...In this cold weather I miss my demister  .
Cheers

Those DIY repairs only fix the heating elements if there is a break in them. What you need
to do is to clean the contacts of the plug and resolder them on.

The bit that the base was attached to should have quite a large area and it is metallic. It
wont look good, however, who's going to look there and say that is an ugly job. My old KS
had the plug bit break off when I had it tinted. Didn't realise until winter time. The tint mob
said it was already broken. I got it fixed when I had it serviced. Can't remember how much
it cost me but all they did was solder it on.

After cleaning my back window last winter, I noticed my demister had stopped working, figured was because I'd probably broken one of the wires/elements.
Didn't know tere was repair kits, what are these kits called please so I can go a hunting

Cheers :)

Rear window demister repair kits available in most auto shops. It is a stick-on metallic line
that joins breaks in the element lines.

Repair kit is the go. I knocked mine off in exactly the same way, bought a syringe tube of rear window demister repair "gel", mixed both halves together and applied it like glue. Hardened to metal a few hours later (it has a very high silver content). Works fine on broken contact attachments.

I tried soldering it on to the back window but it was a clean break. The solder just didn't stick to the glass so this was the only option.

Cost me $5 all up.

either the above option or search any electrical shops.
Many of them have a metallic "tape" which you just stick on the glass and then attach to the plug thingy.
Works a charm and costs about 5 bucks too, either way is ood i'm sure, although the metal paste is probably a more original look haha.
