hey guys question about autobox,my diamante has done 130,000,and ive lost all foward gears,this happend slowly over about a week i noticed the the gears where slipping,the fluid is at the right level and is clean,and theres no burnt smell,reverse is slipping but the forward gears are like in neutral,what u guys reckon?

Time for another box methinks . Try to get one that hasn't been recoed but simply came out of a wrecked car. Or better just to cut your losses and move on , if you can.

Maybe locking up, but I had the same symptons when my Over-drive Band wrecked, might sound strange but does happen, is/do you have a over-drive button on? or A/T mode?

I had it engaged (over-drive) and you would press the accel and all it did was made a massive rev sound but not move anywhere.

Otherwise sounds like the gear plate has eaten away, I lost complete first gear but it never revv'd out it was still able to move (slowly) - if you have lost all then it would happen also

Could also be drive chain / throttle control (if its been in for a recent service)

The automatic's are shocking, very poor quality.
