Hey guys, would like your thoughts on this before I take my car to Mitsu to search.

I have a 2004 KL AWD Verada and lately while driving, I've noticed a shudder/vibration when after the car shifts into second gear. The shudder or vibration can be felt through the accelerator pedal and tranny tunnel.
The car has been serviced about 2 months ago, it included a tranny service.

Any help will be good.

Cheers

is it constant like does it stay in the gears 2 and up or is it just changing into 2nd gear

wheel alignment/balance maybe?

I know exactly what you mean!!

But with a 4-speed tiptronic KJ.

Whenever it shifts into 2nd (approx 30-35km/h) it shudders until the speed reaches (40km/h).

I did the tranny flush a month ago, no luck.

However, now it only does it when warm. When the engine/transmission is cold it is not there......wonder if yours is doing the same?

Hope somebody has a fix (or possible solution) for this

What are the revs like? If it's around the 1,900 - 2,100 mark then I get the same problem.

Come to think of it mine seemed more noticable after I put on 19's and lowered it.
I know remember that I had it with old 17's but was on STD ride hieght.
I'm thinking that when you lower your car that it must place some strain on some of the suspension bushes because there designed for the original hieght.
So maybe a possible fix might be to change the bushes to better ones that can better deal with it.

Thoughts and ideas welcome.

I've been thinking about how the shudder may be a suspension-related thing, however, I notice that my car only shudders after the transmission is warm.

So I really don't know......any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ; Having said that, it's a small problem but it's just so annoying

Has anyone tried disconnecting the battery to reset the ECU? I'll try this tomorrow (when it's bright)

I have a manual te that is lowered and i get no shudder or vibration. Though i am on 15's atm so the tyres maybe absorbing it.
