I was wondering if any Melbournians could kindly point me towards where would be a good place to listen to various brands of psekaers (eg Hertz, Morel, Boston, MB Quart, Infinity)?
I did a search before posting this thread and found a few recommendations for installers but couldn't find anything about where I could just go to listen to speakers / buy speakers.
I live in Kew but I am happy to travel (hehe ... after all I do have a Magna :D - although it cost me $100 to fill her up yesterday  !)
I was hoping to go and have a listen to and buy some splits for the front and maybe some 6 x9 for the rear as was suggested in the other thread.
Thanks!

Thanks Liverpool and Tim!
I did a bit of an audio trip today and went to 5 places:
Stylyn (Bentleigh) - Travis was very helpful and actually asked me what music I listen to :) - I listened to the Bostons and MB Quart - they have a wide range of sound boards
Phatt Audio Concepts (Braeside) - Sam was also very helpful and suggested Bostons. However they were renovating and busy doing up an Alpine car so I said I'll drop by next week so I can listen to the various speakers
I also dropped by Tower Audio (Oakleigh) - OK but I think you need to know what you want to go here... Alpine / MB Quart / Rockford Fosgate - only one sound board
Also went to Freeway Audio - the salseman there was very focussed on Focals (that's all I got to listen to there) - he said that the new MB Quart were made in China and not that good - even though the box he pointed to has "Handmade in Germany" written on it  Did seem to have a lot of stuff on sale though - not that any of them were offered to me...
Finally Autobarn in Moorabin - the audio guys were not there, and while the manager was very helpful I don't think that audio /electronics is his thing so I didn't really get to listen to all the stuff. I noticed they do have Hertz there - although I am not sure if it is the full range.
Stylyn said they could do MB Quart Reference Splits, and a basic Alpine MRPF300 4 channel and a Rockford P1 & 12" Box for $1600 installed - which is what I am leaning to. I liked the "smoothness" of MB Quart over the Bostons SL60s.
Anyway, I'll go talk to Sam again next week and have a listen to the Boston setup
I told Sam that Tim had suggested Phatt and he smiled and said - "We call him iTim - because he loves his ipod" :D
BTW Tim, that is a rather violent avatar :js: - where did you get it from? Although, I am not sure which is more disturbing - the new avatar or the old one!
I note that the person labelled as mod seems to have some passive aggression issues
