Hi all
Well first post and you're going to have to excuse if I come across as a straight out n00b of no technical knowledge, but I haven't grown up with any exposure to cars and therefore this is a whole new world to me
I bought a TR as my first car off of a previous member coming up 3 months ago, and he's done a couple of minor mods like the clear indicators etc, though I'm looking at possibly taking lowering as my next mod to do on it both for handling and for looks purposes
I'm only sitting on 15" rims at the moment, but not really an option of upgrading those for a while
What would be my best option to do in terms of how low/brand etc? is this a good idea to do now?
and how much would that cost me as an approximate?
Thanks for your help in advance guys :)

Welcome man.
How low depends on a few things, im not going to get into the god damn technical stuff of rates and crap cause i have NFI on it :)
Like, for some people like myself, i wanted my car to look sick, have a nice low stance, thus, superlows up the front, and compressed rears in the back, car sits a tad lower then tyre.
Looks unreal, but potholes suck...
If you wish to keep some ride comfort, go for lows all around, Alot of members have this combo and like it...
As for "Dampers" or shock absorbers as i call them....KYB's are pretty good...Pretty decent for the price anyway man!
Finally good to see a thread with proper spelling and not some stupid which sticker looks best on my car thread:P

Most useless post ever.
Owners of 2nd gens I'm sure will post on there own accord.....
And all shocks go for $100each (roughly) and most springs go for $110 a set anyway so unless he wants coilovers i think he'll be spending the same amount of money either way

Cheer mate for the advice
I'll probably end up going with lows all round, just for the added caution I guess because I have enough troubles on stock height with humps and holes
I'll definately look into the KYB's, because, typical uni student style, I don't have a huge amount and value for what I pay's going to be important lol
Ah I know what you mean man, I'm not a fan of the missspellings either, so that's one thing I guess that will always stay decent in my post's, even if half the point of them is n00by to others :p
Thanks again :D

Sweet definately will then
Will they supply to Perth/have distributors here?
Is it a self done installation or do they need to be put in professionally?
I think I could have access to a decent work area and decent equipment if needed, but it's just a matter of good knowledge etc I suppose?

They were attatched when I bought the car, as the previous owner was an AMC member (it's how I found this site, the windscreen decal stained the windscreen glass and its readable)
however from lurking this site for the past 2.5+ months waiting for approval, you can apparently get them from your Mitsu dealer, and they're approx $19 by memory

haha see i knew it was like $20ish
but thats for the pair
which is where the confusion begins lol
ok you have your answer now though so all good :P
Superlows on the front is fine :P I only bottomed out about 20 times this week since getting them on saturday :) 3rd gen though, so a little different. Highways are nice, but I live in a rural area :P Need to improve my pothole dodging ability.

if you want to lash out a bit down the line, I am running Koni Adjustables in my car, front and rear, cost me about about 200 a pop I think for the shockies. Thats once you graduate and earning the $$$ :)

oh nicee
I've heard of these but yeah, won't be able to afford this for a decent amount of time :P
Might go superlows on front, not too many potholes in my area, so should be okay I guess
I'll look into it more
thanks for all the help guys
