Gday all,
Just after some info on changing my belts, they never shut up, always squeaking or flapping around - have pinpointed it to the 2 on the driver side (Can't see any more on that side)
Is it easier to go to autobarn, supercheap or somewhere, buy the belts and put them in myself - or take it to a mechanic and pay him to do it.
I'm not overly confident in replacing my belts, but if its easy then i could.
Any suggestions on which one...or even a different route to take

It may be a lot cheaper to do it yourself, I was getting other work done at auto masters, and they said they would only charge for parts to change the two belts.
... pity when I got the bill the belts where $80 each
Im not sure if I got ripped, but I know they are a lot cheaper for Bosch ones from supercheap or Malz or wherever.

How long have they been on there? Check your tensioner...

Well i paid $40 each for gates racing belts ORDERED IN...So $80 for standard ones IS a rip-off

Havnt changed them since I bought the car 18 months ago, should last longer than that though?

mmm, from what I can remeber belts were changed 5,000k before I bought the car, have driven around 25,000k since then
Shouldnt belts last longer than 30,000?

Humm I can't remeber if it's 30k or 50k, best to change them anyway you might learn something.
it's very easy, you loosen off the tensioner, remove old belt, put the new one on the tighten it up again.
Best t find the workshop manual for your car, it will be avaliable on here somewhere.

Your thinking about timing belts, I assume this guy is just talking about the power steering belt and AC belt.
