so, with the manual conversion coming along, I'm looking for a decent gear knob to go with my mainly black interior.
I'm hoping to get a black leather shift boot from 6sik6trimming, and then I'd like something along these lines:

or maybe something like this:

or maybe even this:

just not sure. I really like the first one, but it's blue (I have nothing else blue in my car) and I can't find any other colour. something subtle and understated is preferred.
any suggestions or opinions?
cheers,

Agree, the first one looks the best. If that blue part is plastic (which from the photo it looks to be) then can it be disassembled and painted?
EDIT: The third one looks too try-hard, don't go for that one :P

What about a 380 vrx one. I don't think they'd be too expensive as the normal ones are 185$ from mitsubishi. Also they're classy. Can't wait to add one to my interior.

I've found a couple with carbon instead of the blue panel...

I think I like the first one, but it's $150... hmm!

I thought about that, but for the same price I can get a really nice MOMO one.
anything Ralliart is way overpriced still (like a $400 grille!).

I would look for a stock one that is from another car that looks decent. I personally do not like the look of many/all aftermarket knobs. they tend to look and feel cheap and plasticy.
Stock ones also feel grippier and dont slip, which to me is good as i have sweaty palms.
the newer holdens have really good looking ones, ford ones are good as well.
I got mine from a nissan x-trail, looks great, and has a stock look so it doesn't stand out

I'd go with the second one personally, the VW one
As long as it doesn't have VW anywhere on it?
That or the first one in carbon
I agree with not the 3rd though ;)

i got mine from autobarn, it's a SAAS black leather/black stitching with brushed aluminium inserts, cost me about $40 from memory.
here's a pic with a 6sik6trimming gear boot in black.

you may also notice i don't have a retainer around my gearstick, thats because the missus got it when we did her manual conversion.

I simply got my factory manual gear knob recovered for $60 to match the gear boot. The shape of the factory one looks nice and its damn heavy which is good!

unfortunately the stock manual knob that came with the gearbox is crap, so it's got to go. it doesn't tighten down properly and have nicks and scratches all over it.
I'm really leaning towards the MOMO Combat Evo in black with the carbon insert. will match the MOMO Ralliart wheel, and I get it for about $160 shipped.

are they tapped so they thread onto the gear stick or do you have to secure them with the grub screws?

if you're talking about mine, then it's just held on by grub screws, however all sass gearknobs come with rubber spacers to slide onto the existing gearstick like spacers so it's a really tight fit and doesn't move around at all.
