hey
um my old hu blew up and now my system isnt working i know that much. i brought a new hu and installed it but there is now power to it or my amp. so i had some advice that it might be fuse blown. I found one 20A for the radio in the engine compartment and replaced it but it still doesnt seem to work an not sending any power to the amp. I rang up straithfield and he wouldnt give me any suggestions for free asking me to book in. any advice or opinions from u might be helpful.

Did you install the wire from the head unit to the amp? Sometimes it will be called the power antenna wire.

yeah i checked the footwell fuse aswell
nah i didnt install the amp. im really noob at auto electrics i just plugged it into the wiring harness adapter.
also doesnt my amps power come directly from the battery? and if this may help in diagnosing the problem my roof light doesnt work anymore not sure if its the bold or what.

check the fuses under the bonnet, also check if the fuse that you replaced hasn't blown again.
also yes you amp power does come straight from your battery but it needs a signal wire to come from the head unit to turn it on so if that fuse has blown then your amp won't work.

so i checked all the fuses and replaced the radio one of them in the engine bay. plugged it back in and it worked but for about 5 mins then it went back to being muffled and a little pop sound came out of the speaker so i unplugged the harness from the radio cause i dont want it breaking again.

maybe try and reground the ground cable for the back of the deck
move it to the metal part where the deck sits

you've probably wired it up incorrectly. check that against your manaul. Power to 12v direct, acc to acc. ground to chassis.

Err.... You realise you need an amp trigger/remote wire running from your head unit to your amplifier in order for it to turn on, right?

lol its not like its the first time ive installed my amp i have been running it for half the year my problem is either the fuse keeps blowing or somehing else because as i said it works but now it makes a pop sound now when it is on and then just goes to becomeing muffled.

Speakers maybe? Or the amp might now be rooted.

i think maybe the speakers but is there anyway to test if the amp is broken with a multi meter perhaps?
